The Little Brother Sessions are a project put together by volunteers associated with Inspired Service, and held for the Sac Friends' Technology Users Group. These are public book and technology discussion sessions that include a presentation on the fact behind the fiction of Cory Doctorow's Little Brother.
These sessions are going to be developed and led by a trio of computer professionals with a wide range of backgrounds and experience. None of the presenters, including myself, are going to try and market ourselves as security experts, or sell any snake oil. It is only our intention to help people understand the limitations of technology in their lives so that they can make better choices.
To this end, the discussion will be informal. We are not recruiting anyone for anything, and we don't want your money. We, the presenters, are planning on having a good time and just want to share our knowledge and experience. The coffeehouse may want your money though, so consider their kind efforts in making a discussion space available that is comfy and has really good wifi.

Keep Moving Forward!
Sometimes when you have big dreams, you try and build them, and whatever you create looks nothing like what you started and planned upon.
What I am saying is that after doing a lot more research, and answering some potential board members' questions, I have found that much of what I conceived of as useful and needed is really not desired or ahead of its time. It is painful to realize that some ideas just aren't ready for most people to fathom, but my original concept for Inspired Service as a 501c3 is just not what people really desire.
So, when you can't make anyone else happy, make yourself happy. Its a good motto.
The future of Inspired Service will be dedicated to creating and managing some open source software initiatives that I had been wanting to do for many years. Come back for more real soon...

Countdown to Launch
Right now, I'm working like crazy to complete all the steps necessary to launch as a 501c3. This means recruiting a good board of directors, finding a helpful umbrella organization, and smoothing out our program goals and business plan.
Don't worry, you will see more here sooner than you think!
